Communications & PR Director, Little Rock

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences seeks qualified applicants to fill the position of Communications and Public Relations Director for the College. The largest of the UALR colleges, the unit houses ten academic departments, oversees events for community support groups within the college, conducts fundraising activities, and administers non-credit programs.

The primary responsibility of the position is the writing, designing, and editing of College communications using print and electronic media. These communications include College web sites and newsletter; catalog copy; a variety of reports; and publications related to student recruitment and retention, discipline-related events, fundraising events, and awards programs. The position is also responsible for coordinating the College’s participation in selected university-wide processes and events, such as graduation ceremonies, awards programs, and student orientation and recruitment sessions.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated work experience with a variety of software, including Adobe Photoshop and In Design Microsoft Office suite, and Dreamweaver. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Work history in a university setting and experience with SCT Banner or similar enterprise-level software would be advantageous. BA degree is required. MA preferred.
