SCIENCE WRITER/EDITOR: Arkansas Children's Hospital Research Institute, Little Rock, Arkansas, is seeking a highly organized and motivated science writer/editor to assist basic and clinical research scientists and administrators in the preparation of research, program, shared instrument, and training grant applications to federal agencies and private foundations. In addition, the writer will provide developmental and substantive editing of biomedical manuscripts and prepare scientific and other reports as requested. Qualified candidates must possess bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, 5 years exp as a writer/editor or a master's degree from an accredited institution with 2 years exp. Coursework performed in the social, physical, or life sciences is required. Exp working with physicians or scientists regarding the editing of their work and exp with grant writing for submission to federal agencies is preferred. Salary range: $44,700-$68,000 DOE. Technical Writer

My client is needing a Technical Writer for a contract to hire opportunity located in Little Rock,AR. Candidates with experience documenting in a Data Warehouse environment are preferred.

The Information Management Technical Writer is responsible for all aspects of documentation for Information Management applications. This includes documenting all work units for our information warehouse from a technical processing flow, as well as the data contact. Documentation of the data will need to be from an IT perspective and business user standpoint. This person will work closely with Development and Production Support to identify and understand the key areas of our applications, the existing documentation within, and documentation needs going forward. The first priority will be to update and organize the meta-data for the business users.

Responsibilities are as follows: Write, edit, index, or revise a variety of technical and user documentation. Collaborate with programmers, business analysts, managers, and business users to gain an understanding of the applications and the documentation deficiencies. Ensure accuracy and completeness of existing technical documentation. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and an understanding of information technology concepts and data warehousing. Strong organizational skills are also a must. Knowledge of Informatica will be a plus.
